A Seed Was Planted
Salt & Light began from a growing conviction that we’ve drifted too far from the simple remedies God placed in creation. After years in health care, I saw how often we overlooked the gentle, nourishing support found in plants and everyday rhythms of care. What started as a personal journey back to the garden became a calling to rediscover these time-honored remedies, to trust the wisdom woven into creation, and to help others return to a slower, more intentional way of tending their bodies.
Hands to Work, Hearts in Prayer
As the dream took root, so did the work of learning, growing, and creating. Each product began with study, prayer, and hands in the soil; growing medicinal plants, researching traditional preparations, and carefully crafting small batches with intention. What we make is simple and purposeful, using high-quality ingredients and time-honored methods. From harvesting in the garden to bottling by hand, every apothecary remedy is created to honor the plants, the process, and the people who will use them.
Pouring Into Others
Salt & Light was never meant to be just products on a shelf; it was meant to be shared. Through markets, apothecary workshops, canning classes, sourdough gatherings, gardening lessons, and more, we open our doors and our tables to teach the skills that have quietly sustained families for generations. Our heart is to equip others with confidence in their kitchens, their gardens, and their homes; to revive lost arts, build community, and remind one another that simple skills can be sacred work.
Preparing a Place
What began in the garden is growing into something even greater. As Salt & Light continues to unfold, we look ahead to a welcoming storefront, a cozy bistro, and a bed & breakfast where hospitality and healing meet. Our prayer is to create a space where people can gather, rest, learn, and be nourished. The vision is bigger than products; it’s about building a place set apart for community, restoration, and light in the everyday.
